“Office Professional of the Year”
and
“Administrator of the Year” Recipients
Tamla Miller, CEOE and Judi Miller were
recognized as the KAEOP “Office professional
of the Year’ and the Administrator of the Year
respectively, at the KAEOP Spring Conference on Friday,
April 16, 2010, in Topeka. Both Tamla and Judi are
employees of the Kansas State Department of Education.
Tamla has worked for the Kansas Department
of Education for 24 years and has been a member of
KSDE AEOP for over 20 years. She is also a member
of KAEOP and NAEOP. Tamla’s upbeat attitude
and willingness to lend a helping hand to anyone in
need makes her a welcome participant in any project
she involves herself in. Though her range of duties
is too numerous to mention, she truly goes above and
beyond what is required of her in every situation.
Judi Miller is an Assistant Director
for Title Programs and Services at the Kansas State
Department of Education. Her Primary responsibility
is to facilitate the implementation of several federal
education programs such as Title 1. Judi has been
with KSDE 20 years. Judi is currently the President
of the National Title I Association. Her undergraduate
degree is from the University of Nebraska at Kearney;
her administrative certification from Washburn University
and her Masters degree is from Kansas State University.

Guidelines for Nomination
1. One candidate may be nominated by each KAEOP affiliate
of the current affiliation year (July 1 – June 30).
2. DO NOT send scrapbooks, newspaper clippings, or any other
materials. All materials must be submitted by sponsoring association
at one time and no materials will be returned.
3. A $5.00 non-refundable fee payable to KAEOP must accompany
the nomination. Fees will be used to help defray expenses
for the winner to attend the Spring Conference.
4. Application material must be POSTMARKED by JANUARY 15.
5. The NAEOP Public Relations chairman will notify all candidates
and the sponsoring association immediately after the final
decision of the judges.
6. An inscribed plaque will be presented to the winner at
the Spring Conference.
7. Nominations that do not follow guidelines will not be submitted
to judges for consideration.
8. The Kansas Educational Administrator of the Year shall
be nominated by KAEOP as a candidate for the National Educational
Administrator of the Year award sponsored by the National
Association of Educational Office Professionals.
9. Candidate may only receive the Kansas Educational Administrator
of the Year award one time.
